Press Release Summary: Cedar Grove Lodge, a well-known Ontario resort, was recently recognized by the Audubon Green LeafT Eco-Rating Program for its continual commitment to protecting the environment.
Press Release Body: Huntsville, Ontario - Cedar Grove Lodge has set itself apart from other Ontario resorts through their commitment to the environment and was recently awarded a 4-Green Leaf rating by the Audubon Green LeafT Eco-Rating Program.
Nestled on the shores of beautiful Peninsula Lake for over 81 years, Cedar Grove Lodge is a Muskoka, Ontario landmark. Three generations of the Fleming family have welcomed guests from all over the globe to their Ontario lodge and cottage resort. However, it wasn't until recently that this traditional lodge gained recognition for more than just their cozy cottages with fieldstone fireplaces and delicious home cooked meals. From the onset, Cedar Grove Lodge has made a conscious effort to protect the environment and help guests experience numerous onsite traditional resort activities in nature such as tennis, boating, water-skiing, hiking, Nordic-skiing, ice-fishing, skating and so much more. With Cedar Grove Lodge's commitment to environmentally friendly practices, they have now gained nationwide recognition as being awarded a 4-Green Leaf rating by the Audubon Green Leaf Eco-Rating Program.
The Audubon Green LeafT Eco-Rating Program began in 1998, to meet the lodging industry's desire to provide quality guest services, while minimizing the impact on the environment. The program delivers a comprehensive and credible means for assessing the extent of the environmental measures undertaken at participating accommodation facilities. Audubon Green LeafT Eco-Rating Program provides the public with the assurance that audited lodging facilities have met the environmental best practices standards required and are awarded a rating from 1 to 5 Green Leafs.
Kevin Gallagher, President of Green Leaf Environmental Communications states that, \"Cedar Grove is the first resort in Ontario to receive a 4-Green Leaf rating. It is very unusual for a property to receive 4-Green Leafs in its first rating. This proves that Cedar Grove\'s owners have had an interest in becoming a sustainable business long before they took the steps to become rated under our program. A score of 4-Green Leafs confirms that Cedar Grove is fully implementing many of the industry\'s best environmental practices. It is an industry leader for environmental initiatives and is having exemplary success in reducing energy, minimizing resources, and preventing pollution."
In response to this recognition, Jeremy Fleming, Owner of Cedar Grove Lodge (http://www.cedargrove.on.ca) states, "We are of course very pleased that our family resort has been awarded a 4-Green Leaf rating by the Audubon Green Leaf Eco-Rating Program. We are an environmentally conscious family to start with, so it was a natural progression for us to get rated and officially be recognized as an environmentally friendly resort. Cedar Grove occupies 80 acres of natural wilderness with 1,600 feet of shoreline on Peninsula Lake. We believe it is our duty to protect our land and water so that future generations may also be able to enjoy a traditional Muskoka resort experience at Cedar Grove complete with clean, clear water, sustainable forests, abundant wildlife and stunning scenery - everything this beautiful wilderness area has to offer for many years to come."
Cedar Grove Lodge, a Muskoka, Ontario landmark, is now recognized for its operations as an environmentally friendly resort. The 4-Green Leaf rating that Cedar Grove received by the Audubon Green LeafT Eco-Rating Program is something that they are proud to claim, particularly because this has been a long-standing commitment since the resort's inception.
